Dixie Sitework and Utilities played a key role in the redevelopment of Florida State University’s Student Union. The scope included the demolition of the existing union and site preparation for a new 269,000-square-foot facility.
Crews excavated approximately 140,000 cubic yards of soil to create below-ground space for the new structure. The project also included the full installation of underground stormwater, water, fire and sanitary sewer systems, along with two critical lift stations—one for stormwater and one for sanitary sewer—each extending 40 feet below the surface.
